Sell with affiliate links if you have a few visitors.

Blogging and Affiliates go hand in hand. For a blogger it is a missed opportunity if you don’t add affiliate marketing.

Reason for me to blog about this too. Bloggers often start with affiliate links only when they have more visitors. It also doesn’t seem logical to place affiliates immediately when you start blogging. Still, it does make sense and in this blog I tell you is why.

You can immediately show your visitors which products and / or services you stand for. Maybe they do not go directly to purchase, but eventually it is important that the recognition is there.

The moment someone is about to buy a product or service they think immediately of the fact that they have seen this on your website. Chances are they will come back to you.

Affiliate Marketing is one of the favorite ways to make money from blogging. Many experienced bloggers will agree. The best thing about affiliate links is that it doesn’t matter how many visitors and followers you have. You can always make money with this. If you use the right strategy for it to work!

I have a few tips for you that can help you to be successful with affiliate marketing and start making money.

1. Promote the right products

Let’s talk about the products you’re going to promote first. The moment you start looking for products that you want to promote, you should first think of your followers.

Think about your followers’ problems related to your niche. What do they struggle with? What product does they find a solution to their problem?

People don’t just buy a product they come across on a blog / website. They want solutions to their problems and if they see that the product you are promoting offers a solution to them, they will be more likely to purchase.

2. Promote one product per blog post.

If your blog gets thousands of page views and you already have a large list of followers, you quickly have a chance that someone clicks on and buys a promoted product. You don’t have to do much about it. The moment you have just started blogging or you do not have many followers, there is still work to be done.

The strategy of only placing an affiliate link does not apply. You will have more success if you devote a blog post to this product. Therefore, it’s better to put only that one affiliate link in that message. You can provide good reviews and tutorials. These are effective to achieve good sales results. You make a blog post about the problem, your followers will recognize it and their attention has been caught. Then you write in that message about the solution. Tell about the product and explain what this product solves. If you have your own good experience with any evidence, you can also add it. That works very positively and you can convince your followers.

If you follow this process and your followers find your blog post valuable and they trust you enough, they will start selling.

3. Promote a product with a high commission

Look for promoted products that have a high commission. If you are just starting, you will have less traffic to your website and you will make even less sales. Focus on products that have a high commission. Of course you have to keep an eye on your target group. You don’t want a product that you get more commission on, but your followers have nothing with this product. So look for products that solve a problem for your target group, that are within their budget and about which you get a high commission.

For example, if you have a product for which you get € 2, you will find 50 people to buy it if you want to keep € 100. If you promote a product with which you get € 20 per sale, you only have to sell 5 to get the same € 100. See what is easier, sell something to 5 people or 50? Buying 50 sales is not easy if you are just starting out or don’t have a large following. That is the reason to focus on products that yield more per sale.

I hope these tips help you and you are convinced to start with affiliate marketing right away.

Good luck!!

When you have started your blog, you sometimes don't know where to start and what to think about. After all, it's a whole new world for you. What do you have to think about and what is important when you blog. So it's time to list some basic tips for you. I have been...

6 Ways you can make money from blogging.

Years ago nobody had heard of a blog and I must say that not everyone knows what a blog is yet. When I say that I blog I still get questioning looks regularly.

What is blogging? However, blogging is more integrated and you see more and more people blogging.

Because it’s fun, but also because you can earn extra money with it. Not many people know that you can really earn money with it. Many people think that you can earn a small amount and there are also people who still have no idea that you can earn a lot of money with it.

During the time that I started blogging, it took a while before I started making money from it. This was because I didn’t know how to make money with it.

Around me I saw more and more successful blogs passing by and also saw that they gave up their jobs to fully engage in blogging. They could make ends meet.

That was my dream after all. That my blog would become my serious business and that I could focus all my attention on my blog.

Who doesn’t want to make money from home?

So I started taking courses to learn more about blogging. I tell you in advance that it’s not always easy, but it’s achievable for everyone. Even if you have a full-time job.

It’s a matter of planning. You don’t have to go fast if you just go ahead and take steps.

I wrote an Ebook for you: How do you start a side business? This contains tips on how you can best start a second job next to your current job.

Here are the 6 ways you can make real money blogging:

1. Advertisements

By putting ads on your blog you can earn money. For this you need a high number of page views and visitors, because it concerns small amounts. Added together it can add up to a nice amount, but it means that you have to keep busy with your blog.

You can have advertisements placed via Google Adsense.

You get paid per click. You can earn a nice extra with this, but do not expect that you can get a whole salary from this. It’s a revenue model and it is important to use multiple revenue models in order to earn well with blogging.

If you earn enough with the other revenue models, I would leave out the ads. Many readers are annoyed by this. Opinions are divided on this.

2. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing means that you write about a product and place a link to it. The moment the customer has bought this product via the link on your blog, you will receive a commission. This business model can save you a lot of money if you handle it well. It’s important that you properly transfer the information to your readers and that they see that you are behind the product. This promotes its sale.

Do not advise many products to your readers. They can see right through it if you only do it for the money.

It’s advisable to use this way of making money. You lose a lot of money if you don’t.

If you get more experience with it, you will see that it’s a good earnings model. There are even bloggers who earn a lot of money with this and who really would not need another revenue model to get a good salary from it.

3. Sponsored Blogs.

A great way to make money is sponsored blogs. You can promote and get paid for a product or company in a blog post. Your blog post will then be placed on your website.

Another way to use this is to collaborate with other bloggers. You can post blog posts together. That way you can both get more visitors and you will get more exposure.

4. Sell products.

By selling your own products you can create a nice income for yourself. You don’t need collaboration and the proceeds are all yours.

You can also offer a lot to your visitors in this way. This way you can help your visitors even more and share a lot of information. Think of an online program.

If you have a niche, you have gold in your hands. You can respond well to this and thus make and sell your own product.

For example, if you blog about food, you can make your own menu plan with schedules and recipes. You can sell these in a bundle.

What to consider when selling your own product:

  • A course
  • E-books
  • Printables
  • Physical products
  • Subscriptions

5. Offer services.

Are you an expert in something and do you have a niche? Then you are in the right place, because then you can help people both online and offline. You can offer your services through your website. This gives you more reach.

Think, for example, of coaching. As a coach, you can help someone in the area where you have knowledge and experience. You can help them achieve their goal.

Some examples:

  • Coaching
  • Web design or website design
  • Virtual Assistant

6. Offer membership – membership subscription

A subscription is ideal to offer to your customers. You can ask for a monthly or annual payment for what you have to offer. Think of more information and printables, for example.

You can also sell photos for bloggers this way. You add new photos every month. This way you can come up with a form of subscription for your expertise.

TIP: Keep Blogging!

As soon as you don’t do much, the number of visitors decreases and you don’t want that. That is one of the most important things to keep in mind when it comes to blogging. You should keep busy with your blog by blogging regularly or you will lose readers. If they don’t see anything new, they won’t come back. You should see it as a relationship. You have the visitors, but you also have to keep them! And by blogging, the number of visitors grows.

GOOD LUCK!

When you have started your blog, you sometimes don't know where to start and what to think about. After all, it's a whole new world for you. What do you have to think about and what is important when you blog. So it's time to list some basic tips for you. I have been...

The perfect Pin.

Social Media Marketing Tips.

Pinterest Tips.

Of course you want to get as many visitors to your website as possible and so you go pinning a lot on Pinterest.

But what ultimately ensures that people actually come to take a look at your website?

I always say:

You can only make a first impression once!

That’s why it’s important that your image on Pinterest stands out among the others and that your pin image gets the attention of your visitor.

What must a good, no perfect, pin image looks like?

Here are some tips for you.

Tip 1. Format Image.

Always use vertical images on Pinterest with the dimensions: 735 px x 1102 px. If you keep that format, your image will be fully displayed.

Tip 2. Use beautiful and clear photos.

Use sharp photos that clearly show what your content is about. If you want to draw attention to something about shoes, you make sure that these shoes are well displayed. So not a photo with a person completely on it, because then it’s not clear that it’s about the shoes.

Tip 3. The Title.

Make sure that the title is not too long and that it explains in a few words what it is about. Make sure the title is clearly visible. For example, as you can see in the image above, I create a colored box where I put the title. If you place it on a photo, you can often not see the text properly and then people scroll through on Pinterest.

Tip 4. The description.

Make sure to add a concise clear description. This is read as soon as the pin image is clicked. Try to make the reader curious about the information you share in the content you refer to.

Tip 5. SEO

Be aware when making the pin of the keywords on which you want to be found. Use this on the pin image, in the title and description.

Tip 6. The URL.

At the bottom you can place the URL of the content. Always add one URL, this allows pinners to be sent to your content / website with one click on the image.

Tip 7. Your name/brand.

Always place your name or brand on the image. I put it in miniature, because it does not have to dominate. You immediately see who the image belongs to and people often recognize your images and that is what you want to achieve. Another reason why I do this is because you make it clear that the pin is yours and as soon as someone else wants to use it, it’s less easy. So you protect yourself against copying behavior. You can also choose to place a watermark, but I don’t like this very much. Certainly for Pinterest images I wouldn’t advise that.

Tip 8. Recognizable.

I was just talking about it. You want your pins to be recognized. So always use the same style in your image.

Then consider:

– The same colors

– Same fonts (fonts)

– The same structure

Below there are a few of my Pinterest images. These images has done very well on Pinterest.

Statistics

The moment you start a blog, webshop or other website, you naturally want to know whether your website is also being visited. By viewing your website statistics, you have the information you need.

Why would you want to view the statistics?

  • You can see how many visitors have been to your website.
  • You can see which posts and pages they have visited.
  • You can see where your visitors come from.
  • You can see how many page views there have been.
  • You can see how long someone is online on average.
  • You can see through which traffic channels your visitors come to your website.
  • You can see at what times your visitors come to your website.

You may wonder at first what you should do with this information, but you can get valuable information from it.

Example 1

Suppose you are going to look at the group of visitors who have come to your website via social media. Suppose that for the most part your visitors come to your website via Pinterest and Facebook, then you could consider sharing more messages and other social media channels less. You can conclude that your target audience is then on Pinterest and Facebook.

You can also turn it around and think that you may have to post more on the other channels in order to reach more people on those other channels. It is a matter of trying, but you do get your information from Google Analytics.

It’s just important to know what your numbers look like so you can anticipate that.

Example 2

Another example is that by viewing your statistics you can clearly see which messages or pages are visited the most. If you have a number of messages on a certain topic and they are often read, you can write more about this.

This way you can work with your website in a targeted manner by regularly checking your Google Analytics page.

Google Analytics cannot just show your statistics. You will have to take a number of steps for this. You are going to link Google Analytics to your website, otherwise Google can never show your data. I explain the steps for you below so that you can start right away.

Step 1 Create a Google account.

Go to the Google Analytics website and click at the top right to get started for free so that you can create an account. To create a Google account you need a Google account (Gmail, Google+ account or Youtube account). If you have created the account or if you already have an account, you can log in now.

Step 2. Create a Google Analytics account for your website.

Once you are logged in, Google will ask you to create an account for your website.

Enter the following information:

  • Account name: Enter the name of your website or a general name like My websites (for if you want to link multiple websites)
  • Website name: Enter the name of the website you want to link here.
  • Website URL: the URL of your website. For example: www.abcdefgh.com
  • Branch category: You can enter your branche here. You can also fill in others if you find it difficult to make a choice.
  • Time zone: Just where you are.

Data sharing settings: Do you want Google to have access to your data? Make your choice.

Step 3. Google Tracking ID

You will then arrive at the Tracking ID. Save the code somewhere or leave the page open. You will need the code later. This code ensures that the data from your website is sent to Google Analytics. You can also find it at the top of your website data.

Step 4. Link Google Analytics to your WordPress website.

Log in to your WordPress website. You will place the code on your website.

You can do this in two ways. You can process the code in the html file of your header (just above </head>) or we can use a plugin that does that for us.

It’s best to use the plugin, because it’s a bit easier for beginners.

  • In the WordPress menu go to Plugins and click on “New plugin”.
  • Search in the search bar (top right) for “Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights”.
  • Click on “Install Now”.
  • Then click on “Activate now”.

Link Google Analytics byMonsterInsights

You can find MonsterInsights’ Google Analytics plugin at the bottom of the menu. You should see a new menu item called “Insights”. Click on that.

Then click Settings or settings in the drop-down menu below.

You can link the plugin – and thus WordPress – in two ways with Google Analytics.

You can enter the UA code manually Or you can link your account on Authenticate with your Google account.

In the first way you place the code from step 3.

In the second way, click on: Authenticate with your Google account. You can select your account and Google will automatically connect to your Google account. You get a few questions that Google asks you for permission, you can give permission for this or not, that’s up to you.

After these steps you will see on screen:

Congratulations! You are now connected with MonsterInsights. We make it effortless for you to implement Google Analytics tracking and see the stats that matter, right inside the WordPress dashboard. View reports. (Link to statistics)

Congratulations, you did it!
