Tips for beginning bloggers.

When you have started your blog, you sometimes don’t know where to start and what to think about. After all, it’s a whole new world for you.

What do you have to think about and what is important when you blog. So it’s time to list some basic tips for you.

I have been blogging since 2011 and for blogland it has been quite a while.

For many people blogging is still something new, for others it’s a longer known phenomenon. However, the blogs are emerging like mushrooms. And that will continue for a while.

In those years I blogged with ups and downs. Then I was blogging again for a while and then taking another blog break. It’s a quest I can tell you.

You can go many ways with a blog and it’s different for everyone what you want to achieve with it.

It’s not unknown that you can make money with blogging. And that’s not only the case for the most successful bloggers known. More and more people are making money with their blog. Opinions are also divided on this. Not everyone thinks you should make money from a blog. I think we do.

I think everyone should make money. I also want that for everyone, for you. Those who often say that it’s not possible or not neat often have no idea how much time is in a good blog.

Of course it is that you do it because you like it, but should you not earn anything from something you do what you like?

For most people it’s true that you have to blog for a while before you are ready to make money.

Everyone who blogs makes a lot of mistakes in the beginning, I also made enough. I have learned a lot from it. It is a quest and a learning moment at the same time.

Do you know making mistakes is part of it, that’s all I think. And if you never make mistakes, you will learn nothing!

Since I regularly get questions about blogging, I decided to write this post. If you want to start blogging, but have no idea where to start, I have the free guide blogging for beginners(including this tips) Request it below (click on the image)

Today I share my tips with you that have helped me a lot in creating the blog as it is now.

Be yourself.

It sounds so logical, but you tend to pretend to be different from what you really are. Do not imitate anyone else, people will see through this. Show in your blog posts who you really are, what you think about something and start your own brand. Make sure you enjoy what you do or you will never keep it up.

Make an about you page.

Create a page that is about you. Tell who you are, what you do in everyday life and what you will blog about. People like to see the person behind the posts. Drop a picture of yourself and describe yourself.

Reply to comments.

Something you definitely have to plan time for is to read the comments and answer them. This is really very important. That way your blog will live among the readers. Don’t just drop a simple thank you, but really take the time to write a nice response. Interacting with your readers is really very important.

Take away captcha.

You know them, those captchas where you have to enter a code to show that you are not a robot. Terribly annoying if I can say it. Disable them and make your blog accessible to everyone.

Make sure readers can register.

If people want to be kept informed, they want to subscribe to a newsletter. This is still not possible on every blog. First, you are missing the opportunity to keep your readers with you and they are missing the information you have to report. Make sure the links to email, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Linkedin and other social media channels are working. Nothing is more annoying if someone wants to go to your Facebook page nd the link doesn’t work. You don’t want that, this also costs readers. Make it easy for readers to sign up.

Make blog friends.

I love meeting other bloggers and online entrepreneurs. That is very nice about this world. You really make friends and everyone wants to help each other. That’s so beautiful, it really is a community. You make blog friends by commenting on their blogs and following them on social media. Be yourself and don’t approach everyone immediately. It must feel good, you cannot force it.

Link to social media.

Make sure people can share your blog post via social media. Put the links at the bottom of your messages and make sure they work well. This makes it easier for people to share your message with others. And good for you, because this will attract more readers to your blog.

Keep enjoying it. Have fun!

People start a blog for various reasons, but if you decide to blog it’s important that you continue to like it. The most successful blogs are run by people who really enjoy them. They often see it more as a hobby than as a job. The moment it becomes a task and you notice that you enjoy it less, it’s time to stop. It only works if you continue to see the fun.

With these tips you can already get started to make a nice start with your blog. Of course I will come with more tips in a next blog post.

Which blogging tips would you like to hear as a blogger?

Good luck!

Tips for beginning bloggers.

When you have started your blog, you sometimes don't know where to start and what to think about. After all, it's a whole new world for you. What do you have to think about and what is important when you blog. So it's time to list some basic tips for you. I have been...

How you look like a professional blogger from the start.

For all the starting bloggers who want a professional look from the start.

If you want to look like a professional blogger, that doesn’t mean you have to show yourself differently than who you are. You are not going to lie or bluff. Instead, I’m going to give you tips that will help you make your blog look better faster and look like an expert from the start, so you can start earning money by spreading your passion.

By fast, I do not mean that you will earn so much money within a year that you can quit your job. Of course there are exceptional cases where this is possible, but in general bloggers really have to be very patient.

The bottom line is that the more you do, the more results you will achieve. Logical of course, so stay consistent, work hard and persevere. Then your business will really grow. I also didn’t tell you it was going to be easy.

I know your end goal is to make money blogging and see a career ahead of you, so it’s important that your blog looks professional. A blog that looks like a hobby is not going to make you any money.

I have for you the most useful tips which make you a professional blogger.

1. Professional Platform

Choose a professional platform. It may be nice to start with a free platform in the beginning, but you are not going to make money with this. It doesn’t seem professional, so your visitors don’t take you seriously either. Not serious enough to buy anything.

With a free platform, you don’t have your own domain name either. Your own domain name is what you want to be found on the internet, so very important. There may be some people who are successful with a free website, but very few. If you really want to do business seriously, you will have to invest in this.

On the free platforms, you also have rules to follow, so it remains the property of the platform you work with. It will never become your own.

The possibilities you have on a website of your own are also a reason to take a paid website (own theme and plugins)

2. Start with Pinterest right away.

Don’t wait to create an account on Pinterest. Pinterest is the social media platform for bloggers par excellence. Professional bloggers are on Pinterest.

Pinterest is a visual marketing platform where you end up on your website via a link on your image. It’s free, but now you can also start working with ads on Pinterest. Pinterest doesn’t lag behind either, of course, so this was just around the corner.

Over 60% of my visitors enter via Pinterest and Facebook. Unfortunately, Pinterest is often forgotten by online entrepreneurs, but it’s one of the most valuable platforms for bloggers. Tailwind allows you to schedule messages in advance, so you get even more results in less time you have to spend on them.

3. Brand look!

Give your website a brand look! If you want to make a professional impression, you will have to make sure that the first impression on your website is a good one. After all, you only make a first impression once. You have to see your website as your own brand!

1. Choose a theme that is attractive and easy to use for a blog.

2. Make images for Social Media in the same look as you use for your website. Use the same style and colors.

3. Use good quality photos. You can use both free and paid photos if you are not going to take them yourself. A disadvantage of the free photos is that you see them appear everywhere, so sometimes it is useful to use your own photos or paid photos. Especially if you want to be unique and stand out from the crowd.

4. Start building a mailing list.

I can’t say it often enough. Start building your mailing list right away. You can still post so much on Social Media, but nothing more personal than sending an email to your loyal followers. The connection is many times greater and once someone is on your mailing list you can reach them better if you have something new to report.

So really connect with your followers. I recommend Active Campaign myself. There are many ways to do this. You can send some emails, create lists, create automations and create opt-in forms. You have everything you need to start your mailing list. Always make sure you have an opt-in on your website that allows people to sign up and get something for free from you. This is the start of a mailing list. Make sure that this free offer matches your offer that can be purchased later.

5. Be consistent

Especially in the beginning it’s very important to be consistent. With everything you do for your website, this is a thing you should always keep in mind. Even though it doesn’t go very fast at first and you think you are doing it for free. This is not the case, it will pay off in the long term. Many bloggers drop out after a while. They are busy for a while and see little to no results. It goes wrong with many bloggers. They think that it will not work and that they will not reach anyone.

Let me tell you one thing. Blogging is long-term. Have a very long breath. You just need a lot of time before you start seeing results. Do not give up and go on. A break is not a problem, but pick it up quickly. Your audience does not know where you have gone and soon start to lose confidence in you. And that’s a shame, because you were so well on your way. So even if you think that hardly anyone is waiting for you. That’s not true, believe that. And it doesn’t matter whether it is ten, a hundred or a thousand visitors who visit your website. Even if you are important to only a few readers, that is reason to continue. The rest will follow automatically. And when you are talking about professional appearance, you also understand that if you do not appear on the scene that does not come across as professional. Build confidence, share the most valuable information and be consistent!

Tips for beginning bloggers.

When you have started your blog, you sometimes don't know where to start and what to think about. After all, it's a whole new world for you. What do you have to think about and what is important when you blog. So it's time to list some basic tips for you. I have been...

Sell with affiliate links if you have a few visitors.

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Blogging and Affiliates go hand in hand. For a blogger it is a missed opportunity if you don’t add affiliate marketing.

Reason for me to blog about this too. Bloggers often start with affiliate links only when they have more visitors. It also doesn’t seem logical to place affiliates immediately when you start blogging. Still, it does make sense and in this blog I tell you is why.

You can immediately show your visitors which products and / or services you stand for. Maybe they do not go directly to purchase, but eventually it is important that the recognition is there.

The moment someone is about to buy a product or service they think immediately of the fact that they have seen this on your website. Chances are they will come back to you.

Affiliate Marketing is one of the favorite ways to make money from blogging. Many experienced bloggers will agree. The best thing about affiliate links is that it doesn’t matter how many visitors and followers you have. You can always make money with this. If you use the right strategy for it to work!

I have a few tips for you that can help you to be successful with affiliate marketing and start making money.

1. Promote the right products

Let’s talk about the products you’re going to promote first. The moment you start looking for products that you want to promote, you should first think of your followers.

Think about your followers’ problems related to your niche. What do they struggle with? What product does they find a solution to their problem?

People don’t just buy a product they come across on a blog / website. They want solutions to their problems and if they see that the product you are promoting offers a solution to them, they will be more likely to purchase.

2. Promote one product per blog post.

If your blog gets thousands of page views and you already have a large list of followers, you quickly have a chance that someone clicks on and buys a promoted product. You don’t have to do much about it. The moment you have just started blogging or you do not have many followers, there is still work to be done.

The strategy of only placing an affiliate link does not apply. You will have more success if you devote a blog post to this product. Therefore, it’s better to put only that one affiliate link in that message. You can provide good reviews and tutorials. These are effective to achieve good sales results. You make a blog post about the problem, your followers will recognize it and their attention has been caught. Then you write in that message about the solution. Tell about the product and explain what this product solves. If you have your own good experience with any evidence, you can also add it. That works very positively and you can convince your followers.

If you follow this process and your followers find your blog post valuable and they trust you enough, they will start selling.

3. Promote a product with a high commission

Look for promoted products that have a high commission. If you are just starting, you will have less traffic to your website and you will make even less sales. Focus on products that have a high commission. Of course you have to keep an eye on your target group. You don’t want a product that you get more commission on, but your followers have nothing with this product. So look for products that solve a problem for your target group, that are within their budget and about which you get a high commission.

For example, if you have a product for which you get € 2, you will find 50 people to buy it if you want to keep € 100. If you promote a product with which you get € 20 per sale, you only have to sell 5 to get the same € 100. See what is easier, sell something to 5 people or 50? Buying 50 sales is not easy if you are just starting out or don’t have a large following. That is the reason to focus on products that yield more per sale.

I hope these tips help you and you are convinced to start with affiliate marketing right away.

Good luck!!

How do you make images for Social Media?

This post contains an affiliate link.

Social media ensures the visibility of your business. While scrolling, your (future) followers see your image passing in a second.

The image that should make them click on this. Via this image you send them to your website, a blog post, a registration page or something else.

But how do you ensure that you have a catchy image that will catch their eye?

Very simple, by making these images with care in a special program.

I tell you in this blog what an image must meet and where you can make it or have it made.

Brand

You are building a business and you want to be recognized on Social Media. It’s important to get your brand in the picture.

A brand is a recognizable logo, image or product that you can immediately identify who it belongs to. Think for example of the well-known brands such as Nike and Coca Cola. You will probably immediately see the logos in which your colors, fonts and elements are recognizable. But also consider Pinterest, Linkedin and Facebook. The well-known icons show their brand.

Now it’s important that your images in one storage shows that it’s your business. You can show this by placing a logo in the image or using the colors you have chosen for your brand.

Multiple images.

We often make one image for Pinterest, one for Facebook, one for Linkedin per content, and so on. At least for the Social Media platforms you use, the platforms where your target audience is.

The moment you want to see which image achieves the most results, you can create multiple images per content. An image in which your brand is clearly visible and in which a color appears that is not common. Start creating and sharing multiple images on your Social Media platforms. The statistics will show you later which image has had the most impressions. With that statistics you know what kind of images you should maken in the future.

Where do you make images for Social Media?

You can choose to make the images yourself. Especially as a blogger it’s useful that you can make the images yourself after every blog post you have written. Precisely because it often concerns multiple images. You can see in my blog posts that I use a number of images. An image at the top of the blog post, a pin image at the bottom of the post, an image for the blog post in the overview where all blog posts are (on the homepage), an image for Pinterest, Facebook, Linkedin and Instagram. As you can see it’s really quite a task for me to blog. It’s not just writing a blog post and you’re done.

Canva

I always make my images in Canva. It’s a website where you can create images for free. You can upgrade to a paid version. Then you have more options. With the free version you can really go in many directions, so I would advise you to start with this.

What can you do in Canva?

In Canva you can do more than just images. For example, you can also design a book cover, edit an A4 document, create a planner, create an E-book, create a checklist, create an invitation, create a banner, and much more.

Create a design – As you can see in the first photo below, you can create a design by selecting it on the left in the menu bar. A list of choices will then appear. There are standard designs you can choose. Think for example of a Pinterest image, a Facebook image, an A4 document or something else. The list is long, so the standard Social Media images are easy to select for you.

→ Custom Dimensions – The first option when creating a design is custom dimensions. Here you can determine for yourself how wide and how long the image should be. You can determine this with centimeters, inches or pixels.

Your designs – In the second photo you can see that underneath all your designs. Your designs are automatically saved when you have made them. You can find them under this heading. They will then appear on the right and you can easily select them there. I can really recommend you to take a look at the website. I could no longer do without a Canva for my images.

Fiverr

For example, if you don’t have the time or desire to create your own images, you can outsource it. The best website you can use for this is Fiverr.

If you don’t have a logo yet, Fiverr is the website where you need to be for designing your logo.

This website contains many designers / graphic designers who can help you. Prices vary enormously. You can have a logo designed for as little as $ 5. So approachable!

There are several options on Fiverr. Consider, for example, the design of an E-book cover.
