Let’s face it, 95% of the blogging community wants to make money, if only to cover the costs of blogging. But there are just SO MANY TOOLS you need. Do you want to know what they do and if they are useful?

Fortunately, I’ve compiled this list with many trial versions. Having these tools has been instrumental in expanding my blog and ultimately my business.

Some of the resources I’ve listed are free, while others are definitely considered an investment in your blog.

Some tools/plugins are duplicated, because they appear in multiple lists.

Save this post as a pinned tab or on your Pinterest account so you can come back if you need to!

I will continuously update this list when I start using new tools or come across something useful for you.

Tips for beginning bloggers.

When you have started your blog, you sometimes don’t know where to start and what to think about. After all, it’s a whole new world for you.

What do you have to think about and what is important when you blog. So it’s time to list some basic tips for you.

I have been blogging since 2011 and for blogland it has been quite a while.

For many people blogging is still something new, for others it’s a longer known phenomenon. However, the blogs are emerging like mushrooms. And that will continue for a while.

In those years I blogged with ups and downs. Then I was blogging again for a while and then taking another blog break. It’s a quest I can tell you.

You can go many ways with a blog and it’s different for everyone what you want to achieve with it.

It’s not unknown that you can make money with blogging. And that’s not only the case for the most successful bloggers known. More and more people are making money with their blog. Opinions are also divided on this. Not everyone thinks you should make money from a blog. I think we do.

I think everyone should make money. I also want that for everyone, for you. Those who often say that it’s not possible or not neat often have no idea how much time is in a good blog.

Of course it is that you do it because you like it, but should you not earn anything from something you do what you like?

For most people it’s true that you have to blog for a while before you are ready to make money.

Everyone who blogs makes a lot of mistakes in the beginning, I also made enough. I have learned a lot from it. It is a quest and a learning moment at the same time.

Do you know making mistakes is part of it, that’s all I think. And if you never make mistakes, you will learn nothing!

Since I regularly get questions about blogging, I decided to write this post. If you want to start blogging, but have no idea where to start, I have the free guide blogging for beginners(including this tips) Request it below (click on the image)

Today I share my tips with you that have helped me a lot in creating the blog as it is now.

Be yourself.

It sounds so logical, but you tend to pretend to be different from what you really are. Do not imitate anyone else, people will see through this. Show in your blog posts who you really are, what you think about something and start your own brand. Make sure you enjoy what you do or you will never keep it up.

Make an about you page.

Create a page that is about you. Tell who you are, what you do in everyday life and what you will blog about. People like to see the person behind the posts. Drop a picture of yourself and describe yourself.

Reply to comments.

Something you definitely have to plan time for is to read the comments and answer them. This is really very important. That way your blog will live among the readers. Don’t just drop a simple thank you, but really take the time to write a nice response. Interacting with your readers is really very important.

Take away captcha.

You know them, those captchas where you have to enter a code to show that you are not a robot. Terribly annoying if I can say it. Disable them and make your blog accessible to everyone.

Make sure readers can register.

If people want to be kept informed, they want to subscribe to a newsletter. This is still not possible on every blog. First, you are missing the opportunity to keep your readers with you and they are missing the information you have to report. Make sure the links to email, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Linkedin and other social media channels are working. Nothing is more annoying if someone wants to go to your Facebook page nd the link doesn’t work. You don’t want that, this also costs readers. Make it easy for readers to sign up.

Make blog friends.

I love meeting other bloggers and online entrepreneurs. That is very nice about this world. You really make friends and everyone wants to help each other. That’s so beautiful, it really is a community. You make blog friends by commenting on their blogs and following them on social media. Be yourself and don’t approach everyone immediately. It must feel good, you cannot force it.

Link to social media.

Make sure people can share your blog post via social media. Put the links at the bottom of your messages and make sure they work well. This makes it easier for people to share your message with others. And good for you, because this will attract more readers to your blog.

Keep enjoying it. Have fun!

People start a blog for various reasons, but if you decide to blog it’s important that you continue to like it. The most successful blogs are run by people who really enjoy them. They often see it more as a hobby than as a job. The moment it becomes a task and you notice that you enjoy it less, it’s time to stop. It only works if you continue to see the fun.

With these tips you can already get started to make a nice start with your blog. Of course I will come with more tips in a next blog post.

Which blogging tips would you like to hear as a blogger?

Good luck!

That people will click on your images is really a result of what your pin images looks like.

Pinterest SEO is very important, but your pin is what ultimately causes people to click on your image and thus determine how much traffic goes to your website.

The right Pinterest SEO ensures that your pin image will be shown to the right people. It comes into view with all other images of your competitors when they search for what you have to offer. Then your image will make them click on you. Your image must therefore stand out and that is why it’s important that you make a good looking design.

Let’s look at the design flaws. Mistakes may not sound fun, but you should think of them as mistakes that you are unaware of and don’t think about when you create an image.

Tip 1. Boring titles

If you want people to click on your image, make sure your titles are catchy and interesting.

For example, put a number in the title. This can be about a number of tips or better still an amount (4 tips with which you…. Or earn € 1000 per month extra)

You can also make it an interrogative title. If people walk around with that question, you have a good chance that they want to know your answer.

Make your title interesting by adding certain power words. Think for example of: Secrets…, the best…., The most beautiful…., Shocking…. etc. Prevent yourself from exaggerating and appearing implausible.

Try not to make the title too long (I always find this very difficult). As short and clear as possible. Make it clear in a short title what your pin is about and what they get when they click on it.

Tip 2. Not enough contrast

The second mistake that you are not always aware of is the contrast between the (background) image and the text on your pin.

Make sure you choose a clear color for your text, so that the text does not disappear and/or is difficult to see. Also, keep in mind that many followers view Pinterest via their mobile. If they scroll quickly and your text is not noticeable then they scroll quickly further.

What you also have to take into account is that you ensure that the photo of the background is not too busy. This makes it difficult to place a text that is visible. If you still want to use that one busy photo, place an overlay over it or reduce the strength of the transparency (both are possible if you create your images in Canva).

Tip 3. Give all words the same dimensions.

If you give the entire text the same font and size, your text will not stand out. Split your title into pieces and make important words stand out by giving them a different font, color and size.

The biggest word falls into the viewer’s eye and will be noticed first. So make sure the word that stands out tells what your pin is about and best describes your content.

Tip 4. Small text

The last thing I want to discuss with you is that many people are often too afraid to put too big text on a pin image.

Believe me, it’s too small rather than too big! Don’t be afraid to stand out because that’s exactly what you want to achieve on Pinterest. That your pin stands out among the others.

Feel free to try to make an image where you spread the text all over the image.

Here too I would like to make the comment that if someone looks at his or her mobile (with a small screen) the pin image is much more noticeable if the text is large.

Feel free to use the bold fonts. The thick letters and in a large size, your image can not be broken.

The perfect Pin.

Social Media Marketing Tips. Pinterest Tips. Of course you want to get as many visitors to your website as possible and so you go pinning a lot on Pinterest. But what ultimately ensures that people actually come to take a look at your website? I always say:You can...

How you look like a professional blogger from the start.

For all the starting bloggers who want a professional look from the start.

If you want to look like a professional blogger, that doesn’t mean you have to show yourself differently than who you are. You are not going to lie or bluff. Instead, I’m going to give you tips that will help you make your blog look better faster and look like an expert from the start, so you can start earning money by spreading your passion.

By fast, I do not mean that you will earn so much money within a year that you can quit your job. Of course there are exceptional cases where this is possible, but in general bloggers really have to be very patient.

The bottom line is that the more you do, the more results you will achieve. Logical of course, so stay consistent, work hard and persevere. Then your business will really grow. I also didn’t tell you it was going to be easy.

I know your end goal is to make money blogging and see a career ahead of you, so it’s important that your blog looks professional. A blog that looks like a hobby is not going to make you any money.

I have for you the most useful tips which make you a professional blogger.

1. Professional Platform

Choose a professional platform. It may be nice to start with a free platform in the beginning, but you are not going to make money with this. It doesn’t seem professional, so your visitors don’t take you seriously either. Not serious enough to buy anything.

With a free platform, you don’t have your own domain name either. Your own domain name is what you want to be found on the internet, so very important. There may be some people who are successful with a free website, but very few. If you really want to do business seriously, you will have to invest in this.

On the free platforms, you also have rules to follow, so it remains the property of the platform you work with. It will never become your own.

The possibilities you have on a website of your own are also a reason to take a paid website (own theme and plugins)

2. Start with Pinterest right away.

Don’t wait to create an account on Pinterest. Pinterest is the social media platform for bloggers par excellence. Professional bloggers are on Pinterest.

Pinterest is a visual marketing platform where you end up on your website via a link on your image. It’s free, but now you can also start working with ads on Pinterest. Pinterest doesn’t lag behind either, of course, so this was just around the corner.

Over 60% of my visitors enter via Pinterest and Facebook. Unfortunately, Pinterest is often forgotten by online entrepreneurs, but it’s one of the most valuable platforms for bloggers. Tailwind allows you to schedule messages in advance, so you get even more results in less time you have to spend on them.

3. Brand look!

Give your website a brand look! If you want to make a professional impression, you will have to make sure that the first impression on your website is a good one. After all, you only make a first impression once. You have to see your website as your own brand!

1. Choose a theme that is attractive and easy to use for a blog.

2. Make images for Social Media in the same look as you use for your website. Use the same style and colors.

3. Use good quality photos. You can use both free and paid photos if you are not going to take them yourself. A disadvantage of the free photos is that you see them appear everywhere, so sometimes it is useful to use your own photos or paid photos. Especially if you want to be unique and stand out from the crowd.

4. Start building a mailing list.

I can’t say it often enough. Start building your mailing list right away. You can still post so much on Social Media, but nothing more personal than sending an email to your loyal followers. The connection is many times greater and once someone is on your mailing list you can reach them better if you have something new to report.

So really connect with your followers. I recommend Active Campaign myself. There are many ways to do this. You can send some emails, create lists, create automations and create opt-in forms. You have everything you need to start your mailing list. Always make sure you have an opt-in on your website that allows people to sign up and get something for free from you. This is the start of a mailing list. Make sure that this free offer matches your offer that can be purchased later.

5. Be consistent

Especially in the beginning it’s very important to be consistent. With everything you do for your website, this is a thing you should always keep in mind. Even though it doesn’t go very fast at first and you think you are doing it for free. This is not the case, it will pay off in the long term. Many bloggers drop out after a while. They are busy for a while and see little to no results. It goes wrong with many bloggers. They think that it will not work and that they will not reach anyone.

Let me tell you one thing. Blogging is long-term. Have a very long breath. You just need a lot of time before you start seeing results. Do not give up and go on. A break is not a problem, but pick it up quickly. Your audience does not know where you have gone and soon start to lose confidence in you. And that’s a shame, because you were so well on your way. So even if you think that hardly anyone is waiting for you. That’s not true, believe that. And it doesn’t matter whether it is ten, a hundred or a thousand visitors who visit your website. Even if you are important to only a few readers, that is reason to continue. The rest will follow automatically. And when you are talking about professional appearance, you also understand that if you do not appear on the scene that does not come across as professional. Build confidence, share the most valuable information and be consistent!
